model 12 16ga 2 9/16 th ?

I have a Winchester model 12 16 gauge with1912 nickel mod. stamped on the barrel.the serial # is 155137. Is this a 2 9/16 thchambered gun ? Thanks for the help, I'dlike to keep and shoot it but can't if itsa short chamber. Collecter value?

  Assuming the gun is original, yes - it is a 2 9/16 inch chamber. That gun was produced late in 1917, they went to 2 3/4 inch. chambers in 1927.

  A lot of dealers bought this model on a special price deal and had them cut to 2 3/4in an they sold like hot cakes.Check yours out might be cut already,or if not you can have it cut. Mike
