M1A Bipod- Harris or M2?
Decided to get a bipod for my M1A. The M2 is the traditional choice, but the Harris looks a bit more modern design wise, and is about $30 bucks cheaper.I'm not going for historical accuracy, just want a sturdy bipod for steady shooting. Also on the Harris, do I have to install some kind of mount in my stock or does it use the hole I find in both my fiberglass stocks?

Don't know which one you want, but if you want a Harris 13-25", I have one for 55.00+shipping. 0 -
Look at a Versa-Pod with metal feet, looks good on the M1A...Dillon sells them. 0 -
Don't use the M2It attaches to the gas cylinder and screws up accuracy.Attach an adapter to the front stock drain hole and use a Harris or Versapod.cpermd[This message has been edited by cpermd (edited 01-17-2002).] 0 -
To mount my harris on my M1A I used #5 adapter, cut off the kidney slots leaving just a rectangler plate, with a dremmil I ever so slightly recessed the inside of the stock at the drain hole, using the remaining plate and stud as a template so the plate would not contact the gas cylinder and the stud protrudes enough to mount the bipod.
