40 cal. reloads
Why is it that all manufactures of ammo & weapons say not to use reloads in a 40 cal.I reload 10 mm and have no problem for my 10mm. I bought a 40 cal. and have reading up on reloading and they all say the same.

There have been several cases of KBs with reloads, especially in Glocks. Configuration of factory barrels leaves a good part of the head relatively unsupported and the weakened brass of reloads may fail. There have also been KBs w/ factory ammo in the Glock. I've also seen discussions where a build up of lead in the chamber / barrel caused increased pressure due to bore constriction, also resulting in KBs. There are quality replacement barrels available which do not have this problem - one would think the manufacturers would re-design the factory offerings to reflect this, but they have not as yet. 0
