Value for an Armand Swenson 1911
I've got a 1911 that was built by the master - Armand Swenson. It has all the bells and whistles (30 lpi checkering on the front strap and (squared) trigger guard, S&W revolver rear sight, stippled slide top, beveled mag well, match barrel, super tight fit of slide/frame/barrel, etc.) Unfortunately, I am in the middle of a divorce and have to sell my baby. This isn't in the books, guys. and I can't do comps anywhere. This is a rare and valuable pistol I know, but how valuable? What kind of price should I ask for it?Please, I need some pricing help here. Thanks in advance.P.S., I've already listed it in an auction but it has no bids yet. I know I am asking late, but I will cancel the auction if my guess is way off base.

Does no one have an idea of value?Again, thanks (hopefully). 0 -
Unfortunately these old Classic guns don't sell for much of a premium.Does it have his name on the slide? The sights are wrong for what people want nowadays.I assume it is a Colt 70 or Pre series 70.I could not find it in the auctions but I am interested in it.I have some older Clarks and was not able to sell them for even half what I had in them,So I still have them.cpermd@centurytel.net 0 -
LTS,Thank you for your advice. I feel badly about needing to part with it, but sometimes bad things can't be avoided.I think I'll pull the auction and look at another venue like you recommend. BTW, the pistol is blued. The frame is matte and the slide is the prettiest high polish deep blue I've ever seen. It shoots wonderfully tight little groups and feeds anything. Thanks buddy. You've been a real help to someone not thinking as clearly as I should. 0
