Open up a choke?
How can I open up the full choke on a 20 guage Winchester Model 12, 28 inch plain barrel? It has 90% finish so it's nice but not mint. I don't want choke tubes and I don't want to cut the barrel. Somebody mentioned a brake reamer but I don't know what they're talking about. Any help will be appreciated.

There is a shotgun smith in Batesville AR.I will look them up when I get home and post it.They advertise in SGN.cpermd 0 -
YOU CAN USE A BRAKE CYLINDER HONE (AVAIABLE AT MOST AUTO PARTS STORES) TO REMOVE SOME CHOKE. THE CHOKE IS IN THE LAST 1 INCH OF THE BARREL AND YOU NEED TO HONE OUT ABOUT .010" FOR EVERY STEP OF CHOKE. 0 -

Not neccessarily true about the last inch. There are several ways to choke a bore.Best to let a qualified gunsmith tell you how, acording to your gun's barrel.Once it is screwed up it stays that way. 0 -
while there are other ways of chokeing a shotgun barrel the win. m-12 is always choked in the last 1-1.5" (unless it is a custom barrel) 0 -
the only problem with using a brake hone is keeping it perfectly straight.this alteration is best done in a lathe ,not a diffucult task shouldnt run too much .keep on bangin ddhotbot 0
