M17 Bullpup vs. AR-15 as varmint rifle
I am looking for a good semiauto varmint (and plinking) rifle and I had a question on the M17's performance vs. the V-Match? I was wondering if the bullpup could deliver the same kind of shot groupings as a 20" v-match AR-15 with the right 50 to 68 grain ballistic tip design ammo and scope setup? I know allot depends on the individual shooter but I am asking what the performance would be like in the most capable of hands. (Disclaimer: I in no way, am claiming to be "the most capable of hands" or a master rifleman)

The M17 was not designed to be a tac driver. Its history is going back to Mr Stonner and his AR180 and AR18. The difference between the combat version of the M16/AR15 and the M17 is that the M17 does not get as dirty when being used as intended. 0 -
The M-17S is short, well balanced, with its 20" barrel its quite accurate, mine will maintain a 4-5 inch group at 300 with a 4 MOA red dot sight. Unfortunately the sights suck and should be used as a back-up, the trigger is horrendous, long pull and lots of creep but at least its a constant pull! I would reccomend the AR as there are many more accessories avaiable for the purpose you are stating.Although I kind of like mine its rare when I shoot it ... 3-4 years and only put maybe 200 rounds through it where my AR has seen 10 times that in the last 2 years ... I should probably sell the M-17 someday.
