Am looking for a set of disassembly instructions. Bought a new stock and before I start taking the old gun apart, I want to be sure I know what I'm doing. Any soures available?

  HOW DO I RESEARCH A SPRINGFIELD CADET TRAPDOOR 1873 SER# 40785...ALSO HAS MASS,STATE ON THE GUN. THANKS COWBOY636454[?]

  remove ramrod, then tang screw. Pull hammer to half cock remove two side screws and remove lock from stock. slide off upper and lower band springs. Barrel and breech can now be removed from buttstock.

  If the lock assy. seems hard to remove, put the two side screws back in but don't seat them fully. Then very GENTLY tap the screw heads forcing the lock assy. to dislodge.
