Chinese M1A`s/M14`s...........
Anybody had any experience with the Norinco or PolyTech M14/M1A rifles? I remember years ago a rumor going around that they had soft receivers or something to that effect. I own handguns, AK`s and SKS rifles by these companys, and have had no problems with any of them. Were the M14`s just a fluke, or bad press started by other manufactures?

I own both. The Springfield M1a and a Norinco M14. I have heard twenty horror stories about the Norincos and twenty good things about them so I don't know what to tell you . All I can say is that I have shot my Norinco about 350rds and it is very accurate and as of yet I have had no problems with headspacing or any other problems for that matter. Hope this helps. 0 -
A while back someone posted this question and it ended up in a shouting match between a couple of guys. My comment was meant to be humorous. Probably should have added the " :-) " 0 -
Well guys cpermd swears by the Chinese version and has both Springfield Armory as well as the Norinco. He has provided me a great deal of personal enlightenment and I hope he jumps in on this thread. Beach 0 -
Gentlemen, gentlemen, let's not fight! Virtually all the negative comments are in the category of" I HEARD THAT...." If you ask owners, you will find a very satisfied group of gunners. 0 -
It should be pointed out that years ago when a study of the Chinese M14s came out the results were somewhat clouded, but more importantly the "independent" study was done by a company located in Geneseo, IL. Of all the independent study firms, in all the world, they just happen to be in the same town as Springfield Armory. Coincidence? I think not. 0 -
give me a picture of a blown up chineese and i'll give you five of blown up springfields. i am not saying chineese are better than springfields but i do get sick of this same old statement from people that can't back it up. i heard, i saw lets have some documentaion on this. i am not shouting. and fulton armory makes a ton off of modification of guns that were fine. so i don't consider that a good sourse. thanks tom 0 -
not calling you a lier. i am just trying to get photo's from someone. if they are so bad i don't understand why ther has been no photo's. tons of springfields blown up. please accept my apology. this question always comes up and i would be the last to support the chineese but then again a president that i like very much does. i own polytech ak's and polytech m-14's that are the best i have ever owned. speaking of slave labor i think some of springfield's product line are made in country's that pay there employees .65 hour. correct me if i'm wrong. just my two cents thanks tom[This message has been edited by toolman9mm (edited 01-11-2002).] 0 -
For the price its ok, it will match any of the FAL clones in accuracy. They are rough, average accuracy, and cheap in price. I had one when they first came out, At the time it did ok, but I sold it to get a Match AR. There was a guy that had a M1A blow up, he posted the photo on the net. But, if I remember correctly, it was a Springfield. Also he was using some strange Ammo he obtained from out of the country. Most believed it could have been one of those boobie traped rounds used to keep troops from using captured ammo.good luckHAL 0
