Bill,If you really want a target AR-15, WHY are you specifying a 16" barrel? 20-24" is much more useful and you will burn all the powder rather than leaving behind debris that will quickly foul your barrel. For match grade top ends, just go the either Bushmaster, Armalite, Les Bauer, or Fulton Armory web sites and buy off the shelf. They all have uppers that are more accurate than the human at the controls. My Eagle Arms (now Armalite) Golden Eagle can shoot 0.5 MOA at 200 yards all day long with open sights and my old eyes. Spending $1000 for an upper and mods won't necessarily get you more.Oh, yeah. As for a trigger, you can't get better than a Jewell.[This message has been edited by luger01 (edited 01-06-2002).]

Try www.jpar15.com ... for everything you could want for target/varmint/competition. I've had 3 built using their Uppers ... 1/2" groups at 200 yds is easy! I wish I had one of their custom guns ... (sigh!)

I believe you should be specifying an 8" pitch rifling to handle all bullet weights.Jewel triggers are supposed to be the best for target shooting but they are two stage.I have a JP Enterprises single stage that I prefer for rapid fire. The down side is that it's limited to about 3-3 1/2 lbs minimum trigger pull.
