Firestorm Quality

The FireStorm brand is made up of the former Llama and Bersa lines. The M1911-type pistols are the former Llama line, and I have heard mostly unfavorable opinions about them on these boards. I suspect a little "fluff and buff" might get them working reliably, but I have NO personal experience with the Llama/Firestorm pistols. The FireStorm MiniFireStorm (is that a redundant name or what?) is a cut-down version of the Bersa Thunder 9, one of my favorite pistol designs. (The T-9 essentially duplicates a Walther P88 in features and looks for about 1/3 the price.) The MiniFireStorm uses a short, fat cut-down magazine holding 10 rounds, much like the Kel-Tec P11 uses a cut-down S&W magazine holding 10 rounds. When I first saw the MiniFireStorm in a flyer, I thouht it looked like my Bersa T-9 and ordered one. Sure enough, it was. Lke a Kel-Tec, it will accept full-size 15-round magazines, but the 15-round T-9 magazines are very scarce so that is no advantage. The MiniFireStorm is very high quality, but I cannot say anything about its long-term durability as I have not shot it much. The design looks robust so I would expect it to be a servicable pistol under moderate use, but, without knowing, I would not expect Glock-like service life.
