Redfield-ACCU-RANGE Scope???

If a scope has anything other than cross hairs in it ,I dont understand it!Can someone explain how this thing works,it`s a Redfield 3x-9x,with a sticker that says:ACCURANGE200-600 18"REFERENCE WIREIve got it on one of my 99s..-in 250-3000 Savage.It shoots real nice groups,but it would be nice to understand more than cross hairs.thanks..218

    Upper lines(stadia) have 18" distance between them, which will range deer, elk, dirt hogs (carefully using 1/2 the gap), etc.Example place the deer between the lines, turning the power ring until the deer fits between them(back to brisket). Read the lowest number in the bottom of the scope. That's the approximate distance.If the #is partly covered, add 50 yds. Ie, if you can see 600,500, and the 400 is partly showing, make it 450 yds.There were rings that came with the new scopethat coresponded to the certain caliber ballistics. The correct ring was put on the elevation knob, and you would turn it to the yardage. Then aiming/putting the center point of the cross hairs on the target, it would automatically compensate for the trajectory.Simple, and it worked.
