Help with Winchester 1300 shotgun PLEEEEASE!!
I have just followed the directions carefully (; to diss/reassemble the 1300. Althought it warns not to cycle the action when the trigger assembly and barrel are removed, for fear of dislodging the ejector/ejector spring, i have managed to dislodge the ejector. I tried "lining them up" and sliding the reassembled action back together, but it wont let the action cycle all the way back.How do i re-assemble the ejector?The spring is still sticking out the hole in the breech face. and the ejector "rod" is lined up with it, but does it go flush somehow with the breech face? does it hook on the bolt somewhere? etc.Please give detailed yet "an idiot like Carl can follow them" directions?Thanks, Carlcnvpileri@outdrs.net

Make sure you have the tail slot riding on the fixed pin in the receiver, with the bow in the ejector facing in....most folks try to put the bow facing out..hope this helps. 0 -
No its facing in. I never actually allowed oit to come out of the shotgun. But the "tail" in the "slot"...Can you describe (and treat me like an idiot) where I should be looking and what it looks like exactly?I dont want to go hooking up the ejector to whatever.Also, a fixed pin-like structure protrudes out from the side of the housing, black like the rest of it. It is in line with the ejecctor spring slot and ejector. Should the spring be on it, over it, or under it? should the spring be sticking out of its hole at all?Where should the ejector bow be in relationship to this fixed pin?Thanks again and in advance? The oblong slot in the flat "tail" of the ejector rides on that pin. The spring bears against the ejector from the rear.I'm not sure I am understanding "flush with the breech face." The ejector does not attach to the bolt, the bolt slides against the ejector. There is a small mortise in the receiver wall that the ejector will fit into, allowing the barrel to attach and the bolt to reciprocate.

Sorry,By "flush with the breech face" I mean that ejector spring that currently sticks out a bit from its little hole, is it supposed to hang out like that, or should I try to insert the tail end of the ejector into the spring then get the spring to be "all the way into" the hole.All the way in = flush with face. I should have said receiver.So that little pin of metal keeps the ejector from coming out with foward motion of the forend? no? Cuz it does slide foward now (duh, its not attatched to anything) and doesn't ride back when the forend is pulled backwards. Just saying this for clarification, since these things are obviouisly going to happen with the ejector unattatched like it is.So do I just get some needlenosed pliers and try to get the oblong slot in the ejector over the little pin? so it hooks it?Or is that not the idea? 0 -
That's the idea.Use the tail end of the ejector to stuff the spring in its hole and while its stuffed put the oblong slot over the pin.

Didn't go. My pin must be bent, and i am afraid to bend it without knowing its proper configuration.Should it be striaght? perpendicular to the metal receiver in all directions?Man, I wish i had a picture.Carl 0 -
I am starting to wonder if it may be the ejector retainer pin or ejector retainer screw, possibly come loose from the front. and thus the ejector wont stay in place and perhaps these samll bits have fallen into the slide/forend complex which is preventing its full movement AND preventing my removal of the bolt assy and forend.When the bolt assembly and forend wouldnt come off initially, i didn't force it, figuring I can just degrease and dry it, then lube it up and be done with one less part to reassemble.But now I may try to get it loose to see if I have small parts hidden within.Anyone with more knowledge think this is a good idea?Any tricks on getting the forend off?Carl 0 -
Figured out the problem: i am missing the ejector retainer.That "little pin" is the Ejector retainer pin (and it is now bent, and broken).I have ordered the parts from Winchester/Brownell's, but...How do i get the head of the broken ejector pin out?????Please help, Carl 0
