Griffon .45

Has anyone had any experience, or have an opinion, with the Continital Arms Griffon .45? It is the colt commander size with many extras including P-T nite sites.

    sir, i have one of these pistols, and i would gladly buy another. i know they are not as nicely finished as the kimber or colts, but, imho, they are well worth the money for what you get. i personally think it is much better than the daly pistols. what i did with mine is to fit it with a compensator from brownells, had the sear worked on(by my favorite gunsmith of course) to give a crisp letoff (it was good, now its great), installed a reverse plug for the recoil spring and guide rod. using the factory barrel i can put the whole magazine into a hole just a little smaller than a 50cent piece at 25 yards (yes im using sand bags no way im that steady other wise). so far ive put a little over 3500 rounds thru it, and the only failure so far is with cci blazer ammo (a bullet came unseated from the casing resulting in a very short overall length round, caused the gun to jam. using any other ammo so far has not duplicated this event (to be fair cci blazer has done does the same thing in my sig 229). i am to say the least, very happy with my griffon. the teflon finish seems to be quite durable, sigts are good, parts fit is very good with only very minor fitting needed when i installed a different trigger this last weekend. i have no problem at all recommending one of these guns to anyone. even my gunsmith was impressed with the result. by the way, the thing shot fine before i had the work done on it.

    Thanks for the info. Two dealers had told me they have sold a number of them with no come backs, only compliments. I just wish they had not slotted the slide, a little "Drug Store Cowboy" touch they added.Thanks

    my understanding the ports in the slide are for a ported barrel they sell for this thing...i agree it would have been a bit better perhaps if they had left the slide alone, the slots can let dirt get into the thing easier, but they dont look bad...for the price i paid im not complaining (300.00).
