H&K91/G3 or cetme
this may be a dumb question but what is the differnce between the 91,G3 or cetme

The CETME was the standard Spanish service rifle, selective fire and chambered in 7.62 NATO. The G3 was the German designation for their service rifle based heavily on the CETME with a number of modifications to fit their own military requirements. The HK-91 was the commercial designation for a semiautomatic sporting rifle based on the G3 and marketed by Heckler and Koch, one of the G3 prime contractors. All three of these rifles are built around the delayed blowback action developed at the end of WWII by German engineers at Mauser who later took their design to Spain and finished its developement there. Years ago there was a factory built semiauto version of the CETME rifle but this is not to be confused with the current batch of CETME clones which are being sold here in this country. There is MUCH more to this story but I'm going motorcyle riding this morning!

the main differnce in parts is the trigger assy. although there are more the internal parts of the trigger group between the hk and cetme will not interchange although you could swap out the complet fire control box thats in the trigger housing the cetme has safe in the lower or mid setting on a fa rifle is semi where on the hk the top postion is safe and lower is semi

oh and i have an hk clone and like it very much and you might consider getting a recoil buffer to i bought one for mine and it made a nice differnce
