RG's are cheap little steel and zinc revolvers from Germany. They were mostly stopped from importation by the '68 GCA.

They do work pretty good and $20 or so is about right for them.

They are even starting to be collected by some people for their unique qualities (Cheap, banned, reliable).

Parts are available from GPC in West Hurley, New York.

I saw one in a gun store a while ago & the guy wanted much more than that. When decribing the poorest quality gun ever made all you have to do is say RG-10. If it still works it means it has hardly ever been used because the material it is made from wears quickly. The double action will probably go first followed quickly by the timing & finally you will have to use rubber bands to fire it in place of the spring which will quickly break. This gun was one of the major targets of the gun control act of 1968. Original cost at that time was less than $10. (I had one & knew of several others so thats how I know.)

They are junk. I do have one. Kinda makes you appreciate how well other firearms are made.

I used one in a safety class as an example. It was a 38 special and someone had appearently tried +p loads. Consequently it was missing the topstrap and a few other parts. RG stands for ROTTEN GUN

If you ain't got a sense of humor you got no business bein here!

I have no intention of firing the gun after y'alls info. Thank you! I am just trying to help the lady out. It would be a conversation piece to an already ecclectic collection of firearms. The question i have is this, would there be any repercussions if I go around nosing for parts since it has been banned? Does GPC out of New York stand for Genuine Parts Co.? Is there a web site available?

The revolver is safe to shoot. The banning was from importation. No problem with possessing as long as your local laws say you can have a revolver. GPC is <www.gunpartscorp.com> Have fun!
