I have a Pietta made 1858 Remington from Navy arms. Several years ago at a gun show I came accross a conversion by R&D. Dropped right in and timing was better than the percussion cylinder that came with the gun. Instructions that came with it are very specific though. Black Hills cowboy loads or black powder only. I shoot Clean shot in mine with a soft cast bullet.

MidwayUSA is offering the R&D units for $220.00, plus shipping, for the Pietta and Uberti guns - a bit more for silver color cylinders. www.midwayusa.com

Have had the R&D conversion cylinder for my 1858 Remington Pietta for several years - no problems at all with the conversion unit.

The octagonal rifling in the Pietta's bore sure leads up with the soft lead bullets, though!

    Keep off the Ridgeline
