I have a mossberg 352 that started breaking firing pin. Have anyone out there had this problem, if so what was your fix.

Mine keeps breaking the tab on the back end, the rest of the firing pin looks great. Any info would be great THANKS Larry

    This semi-auto 22 has bad habit of jamming. The shell get wedged as it enters the chamber against a long thin piece of flat metal. (The firing pin?) What can be done? Is it worth it? Where can I get the parts? Can I do it myself?

    I also have a 152 that has troubles ejecting and rechambering shells.

    I've worked on a number of older Mossberg semi-auto .22's in the past. There good quality rifles, BUT sometimes they need some "tinkering" with.

    Generally that was the reason they were being sold i.e. their former owners weren't capable or didn't want to pay to have them fixed.

    As most of them are relatively inexpensive rifles, it wouldn't be cost effective to pay to have a gunsmith to work on them.

    In my experience, all it took was just a matter of switching parts ( Bolts, Fireing Pins etc ) and a good cleaning to get them working again.

    Perhaps if you would e-mail Vic Havlin http://www.havlinsales.com/ "Mr. Mossberg" ( He wrote the definitive book on Mossbergs ) you would be able to get more insight on your problem, and he would have the replacement parts you need.

    I've had the same problem w/mine Don.
    If your is the later model w/the clip
    that will hold Shorts,Longs and Long Rifle,
    You might want to contact Havlin Sales and Service.
    They are the Mossberg experts.I replaced my
    "adjustable" 7-round w/their LR only 10-round
    and have had a lot better luck as far as feeding
    is concerned.About $27(w/freight) if I remember correctly.

    I have a bolt action 351, and it does similar things as well. It has been worked on when it was new many years ago, but it still never really fixed the problem. Sometimes those extractors simply wont grab the shell and pull it out. I have to use a knife to pull it out. Otherwise like the others have said, it is a good gun. I know that doesn't help, but I was curious, and thought I would throw my two cents in! [:D] Mark
