Opinions the on the Weatherbey Vanguard

If I miss spelled my bad. Can't spell tonight so trying to use little words. Going to get one some time after the beginning of the year. Will probably get the 300 win mag for price/availability of shells. And once I buy it will start appling for the Nebraska Elk permits. But trying to get a idea if its a good gun or not. Everything I have read it sounds good but never hurts to have others opinions. Thanks for any replies.

    I have this same rifle in .300 Weatherby mag and it will shoot .875 inc groups at 100 yards with my handloads. Great rifle at a good price!

    Think of the design like a Improved Rem 700.

    Weatherby is trying work itself back as being known for providing exceptional value for the average buyer. They're holding prices down.

    Wally world, whom I don't care to shop at due to business practices, unknowledable help, and looooooong check out lines.

    Take advantage of both.

    Or, try shopping at a dealer who will make only a few $$$, and will handle your sale.

    Think of what it would be like without good knowledgeable dealers.

    Nice gun for the money, you will see that it's money well spent. Check the auctions, I see guys running deals for new ones with scope mounts cheaper than Wally Word. You can usually find a nice used one for around $275. On the down side, they are a little heavy synthetic stocked gun and the balance doesn't feel quit as nice as the more expensive models.

    Check out this auction. 14619782, the gun appears to have Leupold ring and base. You should be able to get a gun like that for around $275. The auction is below that now.
