I have a colt 200 year anniversary model gold finish brand new in the box,in 22lr never fired,and i was wondering what it was worth its

Perhaps there are some additional markings on the gun or box to help us. The first Colt was made in 1836, so I don't think they celebrated their 200th anniversary yet.
Better yet, can you post a photograph?

I will try to explain myself a little clearer,i was offered this gun from a friend over the phone,he told me that the gun was marked 1769 to 1969 and it seemed to him that the revolver was in all gold,he also stated that it was a peacemaker never fired new in the box that it was given to him by a family member who has no interest in guns.
I know that there where commemoritive models in 22 lr and in 45 ,if
no one can answer this off hand because i am so vague and dont have the gun in front of me,i will update this in a couple days when the firearm is in front of me.I apologize for the inconvienence.[:D]

According to Colt, there was about 5,000 of these made and sold beginning in 1969. The "Issue Price" in 1969 was $135.00.
If this gun is virtually "un-touched, un-fired, complete with all factory paperwork as sent from the factory, original factory box and sleeve........a 100% gun, you could expect to buy it, (Or Sell It), for about $450.00.
Colt made many of these "Commemorative Guns" all on the same frame in .22 LR changing only the "cosmetics and packaging" from the 60's on through the 80's. Although there are some which have appreciated a large amount, (pushing value over $1,000.00), most are priced and sell between $450 and $500. Collectors of Commemorative Issued Guns know these appreciate slowly and are almost always in 100% condition because they were sold to "Keep and NOT to Use!" Few are found that have been fired but when you do find such a gun, expect about a 50% or even more, for a "value deduction." Hope this helps a little.

The "gold plating" on most Colt commemoratives is EXTREMELY thin. If possible, do not shake, touch, oil, wipe, polish, or look real hard at this gun, or the gold color will come off & the value will take a nose dive.
