Loss of zero
How come I can not hit the same point each range trip with out making slight scope adjustments. After going to the range and getting 5 rounds to touch dead center of the target at 100yrds with no wind and then the next day I will try to do it again and it will be off. It is off by less than 1" and they all still touch but I am just wondering. The temp is with in 5 degrees and same ammo. This happens with all of my rifles. Any help would be great.

What type of rifle[?] Scope[?] Caliber[?] Mount[?] etc. (you didn't give us much to work with yet).

It happens in my old ruger 25/06 with a tasco 6x18x40, my 700vls 223 with a leupold vxII 4x12x40 and both of my 10-22 one has a unknown scope and the other has a bushnell 3x12x40. I hand load both center fire rifles and shoot the same brand and box of ammo in the 22s (fedral bulk 550rds per box). I have tried just running everything from not cleaning to full tear down and clean everything Marine Corps style to just running dry patches. I get great groups but they are mostly .5" to 1.5" from where the cross hairs were placed on the target at 100yrds for the 223 and 25/06; the 22s suffer a little less at 50yrds. I hope that this helps you all help me.
I think that it is possibilty 46. They all take out what I aim at.

Is the five round group the day before from a cold or warm barrel? If it is the last group of the day, and you are comparing it to the first group the next day, is it possible the barrel temperature is different? 0 -
You are getting some good tips from everyone else, but I would like to comment on your 10-22 issue. I have three, and have been shooting them for several years. I did some comparisons with federal bulk packs, and rem. bulk packs, in all three rifles. The feds were slightly more accurate; however, they don't cycle well. The rems cycle perfectly. Have you had any problems? Mark 0 -
Weather Factors= Barometric pressure, Relative humidity.
Human Factors= Blood pressure, Emotional state of mind, Finger tip sensation, Medications.
Since your reloading some factors can be:
Ammunition OAL,
Neck-resized, hardness, run out OD/ID,
22RF easiest ones to control, and check are rim size/thickness, and bullet seating trueness (run out),
Last, but not too critically important unless your a "one holer" is skewed bullet trajectory caused by a canted rifle in the bench rest device, how you hold it, or even are looking thru the scope.

marksz71, I had the exact same problem in my 10/22... It'll shoot coated lead bullets (like the Remington Thunderbolts and Cyclones) perfectly, but won't shoot a full mag of 10 of copper or uncoated lead bullets.
I have now shot more than 100k rounds through mine and it STILL won't feed any uncoated projectiles properly. I even bought a rebuild kit for it recently - springs, extractor, firing pin, etc and while it helped slightly, it still didn't fix it. I've just accepted it and use only the coated bullets - which is fine with me, they are much cheaper than most other types and I typically don't need sub-moa accuracy out of it anyway.0 -
I would guess barrel temperature...at the end of your shooting sessions the barrel has probably heated up some; the next day you are starting off with a cold barrel. Next time, you might try shooting it a little while to see if the groups move back to where they were the day before. Just my .02[:)]
