Questions-Rem.673 Guide Rifle
If any of you own this rifle please advise me how you like it.Am interested in accuracy and what caliber you have.I am looking at the 300 Rem. short magnum.I have not heard or read much on this caliber like I have on the Winchester short ones..Your opinions and experiences please.Do the iron sights cause you to mount a scope higher than most other plain barrel rifles? Any and all info will be appreciated.I do not need the 350 magnum as I have several large caliber rifles. Thanks for your replies in advance.

my neighbor has one in the 300 rem short mag, he let me run about half a box thru it off of my brench , i was very surprised at how little it recoiled for its size , i would compare the recoil to a 12 gauge magnum load , it shot about 1 1/2' groups at 100 yards , he took two deer with it this season and was very happy with it 0 -
first of all, if all i got was 1-1/2" at 100 yds id be looking for a problem . secondly the short mags are all a lot of BS ( read bullsnot) it the 300 sm falls between the 30/06 and the 300 win. so that makes it kinda halfassed so to speak.all of these rounds are aimed right at the yuppies . they think they really have something when they are just standing in the middle of the road. 0 -
260 I would have to disagree with you , for a brand new rifle that was on its first box of shell , had not had anything done to the trigger pull and was using the only ammo that was to be had , I would say it did ok , now if you take that gun and get a decent trigger in it and have the time to work up hand loads for it and it still wouldn't shot any better than that , then I would say there was something wrong , but for a out of the box gun not bad 0
