Mercury 10 Ga. SxS

I recently aquired a mercury 10 ga. SxS I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about them it is a beautiful piece and I don't beleive it has ever been fired.

    Good Afternoon Ryan: The MERCURY You speak of was Made by ROBAR et Cie.m, Liege, Belguim for Tradewinds. They Produced the Mercury, 10 Gauge 3", Hammerless, Magnum, Came with a Checkered Stock, Double Triggers...Modern..In Excellebnt Condition...Worth $500.00...
    The Mercury, 12 and 20 Gauges are Worth $100.00 Less...

    THAT IS STRANGE!! MY MERCURY 10 GA WAS MADE IN SPAIN. 32 INCH FULL AND FULL. NEW ABOUT 1962. WHAT GUN DO YOU HAVE??

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    after closer examination it was made in spain and it is 32 in. full full it has engraving on it other than that I don't know its history how much it is worth or much less anything else about it I picked it up from an estate sale.

    The "Mercury Magnum" from Tradewinds is confusing because they imported two different makes (at least) under that trade name. In the 1950s (maybe even earlier) they imported the "Belgian Mercury Magnums" referenced in the earlier post. I have one in 12 ga. 3" magnum and consider them undervalued and underappreciated. Later, when the labor costs in Belgium went up, Tradewinds began to import a Spanish gun which I believe was made by Zabala ("Sah-bah-lah"), a Spanish maker of lower quality but safe doubles. In my opinion, the Belgian Mercury is worth more in the present time than the Bluebook values; the Spanish gun about what the previous poster shows. If you have a Spanish gun (any Spanish gun) and want to find out when it was manufactured, you can look for the year of proof code and then look up the year. Go to the site www.9mmlargo.com and look up "Spanish Year of Proof Codes". The code will be a letter or a letter plus a number (don't forget that Spanish has a couple of letters that English doesn't have--ll or elyay and an n with a ~ on top or enyay). This will date any Spanish firearm that was manufactured since 1927.
