firearm sell to a Canadian
Does anyone know what the procedure is for selling a rifle and shipping a rifle to a Canadian hunter. Any help or advice would be most welcome. I am having a hard time finding out any information on this subject.If someone could point me in the right direction on who to get in contact with will be most helpful.

Thanks Mark. I will let you know how this works out. The fellow I am selling this rifle to is a friend I meat up in Canada last year on a bow hunt for bear. We became instant friends and this fellow hunts in Alaska a lot so I happened to have a large rifle he could use and I really do not need. I am going back to the same place for another bear hunt with this fellow. I had thought about takeing it with me when I go back to Canada. Would it be easier to do that or ship it to him before our hunt? Thanks again for the info. If you can answer my other question I would be most greatfull.

Thanks to our idiotic Federal government, we now need all firearms registered in Canada and also a permit for someone to receive one. This will take your friend at least two years to overcome.
My suggestion is to forget it.
You can try and read about it here;

The egomaniac who designed this bill tried to run for Prime Minister. He realized he couldn't win and our new Prime Minister sent the MP (Allan Rock) to be our ambassador to the United Nations.
Get ready. The little man with the eog of an Airbus will be trying to get the United Nations to register firearms WORLDWIDE0 -
I just took a look around the link that decee provided and if you ignore his editorial, you'll see that he appears quite correct about the difficulties your friend will face with the Canadian import procedures. I'd say off hand that any further time and effort dedicated by Hornet on this matter are simply wasted.

I wonder if it would make a difference if hornet's friend were a member of a native Canadian tribe who would use the rifle for subsistence hunting? Surely our liberal Neighbors to the North could not object to such a transaction? 0
