Tec-22 (Help!!!)
I have a tec-22 that seems to be ejecting a casing and inserting another bullet at the same time when rapidly firing the gun. The bullets jam against each other. The firing pin recently broke and i am waiting to get a new one. I was wondering if the firing pin could have had anything to do with this and if not what could i do to correct it. The gun still jams alot when shooting slow, just not quite as much. Out of 10 rounds....at least 3 will jam when shooting very slow and almost ALL when shooting fast.
I hope someone knows what i'm talking about cause' i dont[?]

Welcome to tne board. I have a few of these as well as their big brother. "Reliable operation" is nowhere mentioned in their owners manual! One problem, I feel, is the poor support available for the mag. As you have noticed, I'm sure, the mag can me moved while locked in position. I have found that after firmly inserting the mag I push the bottom forward. This naturally changes the angle of the cartridge as it is fed. Give this a try, it might help. One other thought - try a different (different brand if possible) mag. Mine seem to feed best with the factory mags.

I was thinking the mag might have something to do with it. THe mag is an old PLASTIC eagle brand and looks to be well used....I will surely try another mag when i can find one....I hope to find a CHEAP mag that IS NOT plastic....Maybe one day[:)] 0 -
Bad news JR,
As far as I know, they are all plastic and none are cheap. Eagle is not a bad choice. Be advised that Butler Creek mags will not work in the Tec. I believe any other Ruger 10-22 will. As I said, try rocking the mag forward. Maybe that will help.

I have one, and a friend has one, we use to curse them all the time for jamming until someone who knew showed us you have to wiggle the mags and force them up pretty hard to get them to seat properly (they will stay in locked postion then). After learning this trick, we have not had one bit of trouble. My friend bought a second, just so he could load both with 50 round mags, hold one in each hand, and rattle rounds of as fast as possible. I prefer the slow controlled fire to take advantage of the extreme accuracy these are capable of (are you laughing yet?). Seriously, after learning that firmly seating the mags is critical, we have had no problem. The only mags I have reliably got to work, outside of the factory mags, are Ramline mags. BC, Eagle, Condor, and factory 10/22 mags don't work like the Ramlines.

I have one with a factory mag and until I learned to rock the mag it jam alot. Put the mag in like you would an AK-47 mag you will hear it make a loud click, but your not done you need to rock it forward. Doing this I have never had it jam. I can load 15 to 30 rounds (depends how fact my tigger finger feels that day)in it turn it to where it ejects from a 2 o'clock position and rapid fire it and before the first round hits the gound my last shot will be coming out with no jams. I also use white grease in it from kleen bore, I think that helps. 0 -

Ive got two of them same problem moving mag helps also try changing brands of ammo I found out cheaper ammo leaves more wax buildup and causes to jam faster good luck 0
