RCBS Reloading Press Question

Gentlemen,
I have aquired a new in the box RCBS reloading press that is called / marked a "Big Max". I don't think that RCBS produces it any longer. Can anyone advise what I have & what calibers it can load? I probably won't reload with it as I like my Dillon, but, would like to know more about this particular press. Your assistance is appreciated.

    I bought an older RCBS scale at a gun show and gave them a call.They were very friendly and told me everything I wanted to know.Call them at 1-800-533-5000

    The RCBS A4 Big Max press was a failure and needs careful disposal by one who understands them well.
    You could probably get some use out of it if you have short runs that require set up time, as single stage presses do have that advantage over the new high speed hot rod presses.
    The press will be useful if you decide to reform .50BMG brass down to .22 Hornet as well as lesser forming chores.
    The window is smaller than the new Rock Chucker Supreme, if you are loading 3?" shells you may need to get a taller press for the seating operation.
    If yours has the universal shellholder it will be useful for that odd job on an odd cartridge for which you have no proper shellholder.
    Whatever you do, don't bolt it to your bench, because if you do no one will ever be able to buy it from you.

    I didn't realize that "Big Max" = "A4." I have one and don't use it much, but when you need leverage for a major case forming job, this is the beast for it. Jobs which are a strain on a standard single stage press require virtually no more effort than a normal FL sizing job, and I had a machinist friend make an extended die holder for bullet seating of long cases (OD threaded to fit the press cavity and ID threaded 7/8-14 to hold the dies. I've only used this fixture once, but it adds roughly 2" of travel to the ram.

    I don't know about a market for the A4 . . . these are not common . . . but then, I'll not part with mine as long as I am reloading. It's just too darn useful on the really tough sizing / reforming jobs. If I didn't have mine, I'd be eager to obtain yours, FWIW! Especially where it is NIB.
