Steel AR-15 mags
Are the steel AR-15 mags that are made in England any good? I am seeing a lot of them up for sale now. I also wonder why/how it is that they are so many now offered for sale.
Thanks to everyone so far.
Other than the snugness has anyone had a problem?
BTT

The intent of the mag ban was to stop the flow of new high cap. mags, but the letter of the law just bans new (manufactured after 9/26/94) mags from being sold. This left a loop hole for importers to import mags that had been manufactured before the ban to be imported. If you remember this had Feinstien hopping up and down.

another thought concerning ALL hi cap mags. May be worth remembering?
Ignorance of the law is no excuse, and burden of proof is up to the consumer.Meaning that one day we may see some law enforcement agency telling us that we have to PROVE when a mag was made.
As far as the British mags? England more than likely needed some cash so ole Pres. Bush bought a few mags. [bless his soul]0 -
ed spr..... Actually the burden of proof is on law enf. Remember, you are innocent until proven guilty.
The only way you can get in trouble with an illegal hi-cap mag is if you are caught with one stamped L.E./ Govt Military use only, and you are not a member of one of those groups.
If a pre-ban steel british mag was imported, and has no such stamping on it, it has to be assumed it is legal to possess, unless the manufacture date is on it, and it is dated post ban. I have not seen any pre ban AR mags with the date stamped on them.

I dont have any first hand experience with them, but I know people who have, and they say they are very reliable.

The British steel mags are very high quality and function well. My only complaint is that they are a little snug when inserting or removing from the magazine well of the AR 15's. 0 -
well spoken laredo, i think the snugness can be slimmed with a a dremel in certain points. 0 -
