Choke Tubes For Older Browning O/U

I have an older (1965) Browning O/U 12ga, Pointer, trap, 30",
F&F. Who installs back-bored Invector plus chokes?
I want to use the shotgun for sporting clays.

    Back boring and installing aftermarket chokes are two differant things. Backboring is increasing the size of the barrel after the forcing cone and before the choke. Installing the aftermarket choke tubes is also a function of barrel thickness at the choke area of the barrel. The choke tube installer will have to determine if regular or thinwall chokes will work for your barrel.
    If you have accurate calipers you may see beforehand which way this might go. Colonial Arms used to have a page that showed minimum barrel dimensions for installation for regular and thin wall applications, but that page is down right now.
    If thinwall choke tubes are the way you have to go then you will not be able to use Browning tubes, and will have to use an aftermarket brand.

    The above is correct, however IMHO you will find the 30" barrels to slow for Clays, and the cost of modifing your existing gun to be prohibative (it ain't easy or cheap to get the tubes in square enough to keep both barrels shooting to the same place). Than there is the matter of stocking (more money).
    You would be money ahead to purchase a new (to you) gun just for clays work.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.
