12 gauge chokes
I have a 12 gauge over&under with interchangeable chokes.I shoot clay targets with friends about once a month. I was wondering if someone could recomend what chokes and shells ishould be using. Thank you for any information and Happy Holidays. orion57

If you are shooting skeet then use skeet chokes. If you haven't got those Improved cylinder will probably do. Shoot cheap target shells, with #8 or #9 shot. I shoot Remington STS but Win AA are probably cheaper. You only need light powder charges for this. Can't help with Trap or Sporting Clays.

With trap you will need a full or modified choke. Light targt loads are all that are required. Trap shooting is a little longer targets so the full or modified works fine.
Sporting Clays will be at greatly varying distances and if you are walking between stations you will carry all three chokes with you. But mostly cylinder and modified will work.
Five Stand is moderate distances and modified chokes work well.

how good a shot are you? do you hesitate on your shots? if so, go one choke step up from every suggestion made above. if you are trying to perfect the game, stick with what they are all telling you above~!good luck!
