to answer your question about the bolt

did you try pulling it outward?

the bolt moves foreward and backwards as usuall ,but it also moves in and out ,in being a catch ,out to fire

Wow! Do I feel humbled. I went out to the shop, picked up the rifle, pulled outboard on the bolt lever & it snapped close!
    Problem solved. Thanks.

It's the ones you are trying to teach, that do not ask questions, you must keep an eye on".
Quoted to me by my flight instructor about thirty years ago.

Don't feel bad.It happened to me about 20 years ago also.Mine almost wound up wrapped around a tree.Still have mine, just have not fired it for about 10 years. They do have to be kept clean,or they like to jam.Mine perfers plated bullets over plain lead ones.Mine shoots quite well.
