Walmart Ruger 10-22 22" barrel Question??
Today I saw at Wally World a 10-22 (SS) w/22" barrel with wooden
stock and checkered forearm and pistol grip.
I was thinking that I once saw, also at Wally World-the
same barrel/action but in a Synthetic stock.
Are there two of the Walmart 22" SS models?
Are these available through any "Gun Dealers", who I would rather
patronize than Wally World?
Duckhunter, if you made it back from Holdrege and are done
counting your "Take"; I'm sure you can answer and let me know
if you have access!!!!!!!

SC.... Ruger makes 7 different 10-22's
1. The standard rifle blued with hardwood stock. Cata# 10-22RB
2. Same as above only with a stainless barrel. Cata#K10-22RB. This is the one you saw at the store
3. Next is the K10-22RP all-weather gun with synthetic stock and stainless barrel.
4. The deluxe sporter model 10-22DSP, with deluxe walnut checkered stock, and blued barrel.
5. The international carbine model 10-22RBI with full length american hardwood stock and blued barrel.
6. The K10-22RBI, same as above but with stainless barrel.
7. The target model 10-22T, with laminated stock of american hardwood and blued hammer-forged spiral finished heavy barrel and no sights.
You can probably order any of these rifles through just about any dealer. If they dont have it in stock they can always order it for you.

Not positive, but Wal-Mart gets a special run or two from Ruger--I believe I saw the synthetic at one store about a year ago. My preference is for the better 10/22s which can be ordered from a regular dealer and/or built from a stock model. Off the rack 10/22s need a scope and a trigger job so your best bet is to visit a dealer and let him handle all your needs.

Laredo,
I will agree with you on models with the 18" barrel,
but NOT in the 22" barrel.
Wondering which models are offered in 22" Stainless barrel.
AND, while on the subject-
are there "Any" blued models in 22" barrel?
And mballi, I agree with you on what a person would want if using
for a "shooter".
My curiosity is to "Variation"!0 -
LEFTY, YOUR INFO IS RUGHT OUT OF THE RUGER CATALOGUE. HOWEVER. MANY OTHER 10/22"S A MADE EACH YEAR FOR SOME OF THE RUGER DIST. FOR EXP. CSI HAS SOME GREAT COLORED LAMO STOCKS IN BOTH BLUE GUNS AND STAINLESS STEEL GUNS. AS PER MY INFO THE 22 INCH BARRELED 10/22 SO FAR HAS BEEN MADE ONLY IN STAINLESS. I HAVE OVER 30 DIFFERENT LAMO COLORED 10/22"S AND 15 DIFFERENT WOOD STOCKED 10/22'S FUN GUN TO SHOOT AND COLLECT. STEVE, YOU DID NOT STAY AROUND LONG.

Creek, Yeh, the longest barrels I have seen are on the Target model at 20". I have not seen any with 22".
Walmart is certainly large enough to have a special order run made to their specs whatever they may be.
If you see anymore 22 inchers it might be a good collector investment.

I bought one from Wal-Mart in the fall of 2002. It's definitely 22" and it is a good shooter as are all 14 of the 10/22s I've owned in the last 32 years. Many, out of the box will match accuracy with 22 bolt action sporters. I've owned a couple real beaters and even though they were in bad condition they always worked flawlessly. I go to Wal-Mart as last resort, but if they have a product no one else has then what do you do? It's capitalism. I'm glad they like guns. I sure wouldn't want Wal-mart on the anti-gun wagon!! 0 -
The Wal Mart guns are a special run, they are 22 inches long. The stocks are supposed to be very nice, but the barrels are really no different than any of Rugers other barrels. If you like the long barreled look and want a better shooter, there are a couple options to get a better chambered barrel that will shoot better than Rugers. Green Mountain will have their factory taper barrels again this spring, with match chambers.

"Sir" duckhunter,
You have many unique, rare and desirable firearms listed here
on GunBroker.
BUT, I must be blind-as I can't find the 10-22 22"
listed.
Help out the "Hard of Seeing" please and give me the item Number.0 -
Spring,
At this time, the S/S you are talking about is only being retailed through Wally world.
I bought mine there about a month ago and I love it. It was also on sale, so I did good......hahaha.

take it from a PAST dealer that was 1/2 mile from Wal-Mart, another mile from K-Mart, and 2 miles from Dick's Outdoors.
And I was there 1st!!!!
Anyway, All those guys can have models made up of anything thet desire. Just like Lew Horton does the Ltd. Edt. Colts and S & W's. so to speak.
If you call Ruger they will [or used to] tell you that they do NOT sell guns to Wal-Mart or K-Mart's. But they will not tell you that their brother in law at Lipseys does.
Doesn't at all mean thats all they carry. The certainly carry the normal production run guns as well.
My guess would be if you go to a dealer that uses Ellett Bros. in S.C. as a distributor they could call and the sales person could let them know if it is a new mdl., or something just for Wally world.0
