Stove pipe problem range report
My "stove pipe" topic was locked out so here is my report as promised. Fired 55 rounds today in my Beretta Tomcat Inox. That makes 100 rounds total. 50 rounds of 71 gr PMC and 5 rounds of 71 gr UMC (in that order). Never thought I had a limp wrist problem (and I'm not gay
) but I do when firing small arms like this one. Never had a problem with my 9MM hi-power and a .45. But this little booger is different. First few clips went fine until I fired single handed. Feed problem. Not a pipe problem, just a feed problem. After I realized I had to squeeze this little sucker to death and be very rigid, it acted fine. Now, when I went to my last 5 rounds of UMC, guess what. Just like I reported before, on the 5 shot clip, the final round piped. [:0] I guess this little guy doesn't like UMC or maybe it needs to get loosened up a bit before it can accept them. My buddy has a matte Tomcat. We were comparing the slides on the 2 on it appears that the matte slide is smaller in size. Maybe that's why he can get by with UMC and mine can't. Also he has more rounds through his weapon. I'm up to 100 rounds at this point. The next time we go to the range, he's going to fire it with UMC ammo with my clip and then we are going to use his clip in my weapon with the UMC ammo to rule out a clip problem. That's my report. Thanks to all of you for your input.

In what little PMC I've shot, they seem to stoke them up pretty good. Not excessive mind you, you just get a good ,dependable
discharge. The UMC's that I've gotten, whetther for handgun or rifle, have tended to be on the slightly tame side. Nice plinking stuff, but more like the difference between .38's and .357, if you get my comparison. Usually a little less on the clean burn department, also.0 -
Only a hundred rounds? I normally don't consider my guns even starting to break-in until around 400-500. [:D] 0 -
Glad to hear your getting a handle on your problems. Multipal issues are always tougher to sort out.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
UMC won't cycle in my Ruger DeerStalker(.44mag) at all,
but works fine in my M1(.30 carbine).
