Beretta Tomcat
Can anything be done to help the trigger on a Beretta Tomcat 32 acp? I have a new one and its seems to have a very hard trigger pull, but then I am used to a Smith. I am talking about firing with the hammer cocked. Thanks

I posted a while back looking for some advice on a pocket pistol for a CCW. Got some great opinions and comments on Kel-Tecs and lightweight S&W's in .38 or .357. ANyway I go to the local gunshow over the weekend and stumble on a little .32 Beretta with night sights. I liked the looks of it and hadn't heard anything bad about them. I had a good idea what they go for and was happy with the price I paid. Haven't got the chance to shoot it yet. It looks like a good gun for I what I wanted it for. The other two I shoot a lot, that I own, are an S&W model 65 and an XD-40.
What do the experts think about this gun compared to the KT's or the light S&W's?

Hi and welcome. I have a tomcat which has less than 600 rounds through it. The frame broke and I sent it to Beretta the begining of November, I am still waiting for it back but have never had any problem with jamming.
When the frame broke I did some research on the web and found this "1000 rounds" gun comment, don't know if it is myth or not but I really do like the gun. Just my experience.

I appreciate your comments. I've heard the .32 acp action from the slide can crack the aluminum frame;as a result the company is issuing a Titanium body on a newer Tomcat .32......the cost goes up . I shot the gun and loved the accuracy and am looking for a small reliable carry gun that will not self destruct 0 -
dbezner, Last week I bought a Beretta Tomcat Inox. Went to the range the next day and put 45 rounds of UMC 71 gr through it. It "stove piped" on me during my last round of the 7th and 9th clip. I think the gun was a bit dry. Thanks to the folks on this board, I'm going back to the range in the morning with some different ammo and a different approach. I've got a friend who has a Tomcat and he has never had a problem with it. If I have problems tomorrow, I will go directly to the dealer to get some answers. I have only heard of older model Tomcat's having a problem with cracks or breakage. This might be due to the manufacturing process a while back.

I have one, and it is very convenient; never had a jam, fail to feed; however, the safety detent plunger is prone to coming out after 50-100 rounds, and it is impossible to put it back in. I have sent it 2x to the factory for this problem. 0 -
had one a few years back. ran about 200 rds through it. WHAMMO. bought a sig in .32. never had a problem and the accuracy is awesome. like my 92fs but would never get another tomcat. Go look at the sig, probably the best, mos reliable, carry there is. 0 -
I get mine out of the ten day D.R.O.S. wait on the 23rd.
I'll probably have 600 rounds through it within a month, then taper off a bit. I'll still shoot for at least a box or two a week up until I'm over a thousand rounds before I think it 100%.

I purchased a Tomcat years back when they were first released.. It was a piece of crap from day one. When I sent it back for repair I received the poorest customer service from Beretta you can imagine. It was my first and will be the only Beretta I will ever own. I have 2 NAA Guardians and have been very happy with them. They stovepipe the last brass every time, but shoot very well. I would like to have a new Guardian in the specific "NAA 32" round that Cor-Bon has just come out with. Best Wishes 0 -
I too own a Beretta Tomcat, and have had no problems with it. Have put at least 250 to 300 rounds thru it. Have had the best results with Fiocchi 60gr. semi jacket hollow points. Have tried a variety of others, but these seem to work best for me. If you have to remove the left grip, hang on to it or it will "pop" the safety and you will never find the spring that goe's behind it. Found that out the hard way!! Bob 0
