BUCKEYE Brand Shotgun

I have inhereted a 12 Ga single bbl. shotgun vintage 1897. It is labeled "BUCKEYE" and manufactured in Lynchburg, VA. Can anyone shed any light on this brand or manufacturer's history?

  Found (2) references for Buckeye. #1, is for Hopkins & Allen, suicide special revolver. #2, is a double barrel hammerless shotgun, made by the Crescent.
  
  Chances are your shotgun was also made by Crescent?
