Looks an awful lot like a Stevens to me.
I can't believe somebody would do that to a real Colt derringer. As popular as little single shot target guns were, the derringer wouldn't have made a very good platform.

I would think you could buy several "Jackalopes" for that kind of money. I would bet this is someone's "Garage Built" answer to......something. Colt never made this gun, although there may be Colt parts on it, and I would stake my personal "Jackalope" on that!

Two Possibilities:
1. Afraid to sell it because it is a "Fraud."
2. Can e-mail the High Bidder and try to get him to "Buy It Outside of the Gunbroker Site" so he doesn't have to deal with the mandatory 3 day return requirement, or the rest of the site's qualifications including the "Fraud Insurance Program."

If you actually have to sell a gun or any other possesion to finance your childs college education I'm afraid they don't have much of a chance to make it through all 4 plus years. Unless you have a whole bunch of guns. Just my .02. I'd be happy to give several dollars worth of my opinions but that would be way off topic.
