ARMSCO 36ga shot guns
I was in a local gunshop today and they had 2 used Armsco shotguns (1 o/u and 1 sxs) they were tagged as .410 ga but both said 36 ga on the barrels. They had case colored receivers and were in about 95% condition. Any idea on the value ? And what about the 36 ga. markings?

RUFE-SNOW, I am positive about the 36 ga markings.

the most common euro ga's are 20/24/28/36. yep...they make em. good luck finding shells! most that ive seen were aluminum hulls for about a buck a pop! it was an old gauge. basically thay are 9mm bores. fyi, the store marked the tag wrong. they are not 410's! 410's are 41 cal bores.
i sold mine for around 700.00, 5 years ago to a collector. they were used mostly for garden pests and squirrels. minor interest i nthe ga. most are unloading them.

Are you sure about that "36 ga" marking?
As far as I know, there isn't a 36 gauge! There was a 32 gauge load used mostly in Europe, it's obsolete now, strictly a collectors item.
There is a 9mm shotshell load that the previous poster alluded to. Believe that Fiocchi still has it in production. Never was aware any of the guns chambered for it, were marked "36 ga" though?0 -

Years ago, I had a 1935 Catalog, Shapleigh hardware St. Louis , very thick, one they used, not some store give-away. In it was an extensive gun section, including parts, one of the pages listed 36 ga. as a description for .410

if you can, go back to the store and ask them to slip a dummy 410 in. see if it goes in. it may have been bored out to 410.
