WWII liberty gun

Is anyone familiar with the Liberty gun? Or maybe Liberty pistol? It was a small single shot .45 that was mass produced during WWII. They were dropped behind enemy lines to the resistance fighters in europe and the theory was it would be good enough to kill a German soldier with and then take his weapon. Very small and impotent looking. First gun said to have ever been made faster than it could be loaded. I am looking for information, pictures, and maybe even an example of this weapon. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!
