FAL L1A1 or cetme?

I have the options of buying two different .308's
first off i found a cetme in a gun shop around home. it looks a little rough an is priced at 369, with a 20 rnd clip. i also have the opportunity to buy a FAL L1A1 with several hundred rounds of surplus ammo, great scope in black plastic for 600. which of the two seem to be a better deal? i have never shot a semi-auto 308 but have a bolt action savage (for sale check auction #14444196). i know there is some guys in here that have shot both... what do you know?

    This is just my personal preference, but I like to shoot my CETME more than my FN (which I sold). Felt recoil is less on the CETME and, if you get one with wood furniture (most are black plastic now) the wood feels better (and looks better, at least to me).

    The CETME is as accurate as my FN was. Magazines are cheap and plentiful for the CETME. If you use the HK magazines, you may have to file a 1/4 inch from the magazine well so the HK magazines will seat and lock in. File slowly and evenly so you don't get a bow shaped magazine well and then touch up the bluing.

    For the money, the CETME is a fabulous deal. Many will say the FN is a better rifle, but it's just a matter of preference.
