    Hello mckonav...

    The Winchester Model 670 was introduced in 1966 in three different versions (the Carbine {19-inch barrel}, Sporting Rifle {22-inch barrel}, and Magnum Sporting Rifle {24-inch barrel}). It was available in the following cartridges;

    1. Carbine - 243 Winchester, 270 Winchester, and 30-06 Springfield.
    2. Sporting Rifle - 225 Win, 243 Win, 270 Win, 308 Win, and 30-06 Springfield.
    3. Magnum Rifle - 264 Win Mag, 300 Win Mag, and 7mm Rem Mag.

    It featured a recessed bolt face, free-floating barrel, wide serated trigger, a red indicator to show when it was cocked, and a two-position safety to allow opening the bolt to unload it with removing the safety.

    The Model 670 was discontinued in 1979 after a total of 287,648 of them were made.
