Glock .22 Conversion

Howdy! I've been real busy with school, so I haven't been on there much, but I've still been thinking of guns!
Anyhow, I've been wanting a .22LR pistol for quite some time, although I've also been wanting a glock. My question is, has anyone ever heard anything about the .22 conversions for a glock .45 (G30)? They are avail. on ebay and gunbroker for about 200 bucks. Thanks.

    I don't know what manufacturer's kit you're referring to, but I just shot a Ciener .22 conversion kit on a Glock 17 and it was pretty neat. Lots of fun. The only thing was, the recoil spring was a little stiff, so you had to use high velocity ammo (not really a draw back, since most .22 ammo IS high velocity).

    As far as I know, at least (2) companies ( J. A. Ciener ) & ( Advantage Arms ) make .22 conversion units for Glocks.

    Your best bet would be to go to www.glocktalk.com web-site and use the search function. The above companies and there .22 conversion units have had many posts regarding there respective performance, cost, magazines etc.

    While I believe it is admirable to practice more using a conversion kit, it is often far better to use separate 22 and centerfire guns. FWIW, shooting 22 is all about precision and polishing one's technique, while shooting a centerfire pistol is more based on tactical concerns. You can usually pick up a nice used rimfire for about the same cost as a conversion kit if you look around a bit.

    I have one of the Ciener .22 conversions for my Glock 17. it works great and is very accurate. I can consistently hit a soda can size target at 25yds.

    I must dissagree with the above. I find it makes good sense to use a .22 conversion for inexpensive practice, then switch pack to your centerfire barrel and slide for defense purposes, as opposed to 2 different guns.

    With the conversion unit you have the advantage of the same grip frame, same trigger pull, almost identical magazines for reloads,and same sight set-up. This all contributes to consistency whether you are shooting .22 or 9mm.

    I have not seen any conversion units for the Glock 30.
