NEW SCOPE FOR SLUG GUN????

Need some help guys, I have a 1100 rem. LT 20 gauge fully rifled slug gun. I'am kinda leaning towards a fixed power 1.5 or 2X, or possible a 1 to 4 vari. power leopold. What are your idea's ???, Also would you buy new or wait untill the gun shows start? Thanks in advance for youe help. Villa

    I personally have a 2.5x32 Tasco on my 870. I like the magni., ect. but will buy a leopold or burris as soon as I can. It's small enough to not make things over bulky/heavy and enough to see. We're not talking long yardages with a slug gun. I think after using it a while, you'll settle on one power setting and leave it, if a variable.

    You should look into the Bushnell elite 3200 1.5-4.5x32 W/firefly reticle. Good scope it has the Bushnell raingaurd coating on it to help see through fogged up lenses and the cross hair glows. Pretty cool scope.

    There are many to chose from. But as stated earlier the 1 or 1.5 to 4 or 4.5 with a circle in the center of the cross hairs is what I would recommend.[:)]

    could look at a dot sight like the Bushnell Holosight works very well for slug guns, also you may want to look at a Shotgun scope/mount combo made by B-Square , it comes with a solid saddle design mount and a 2.5 x 20 scope ,, the one I have is for the Remington 20 ga fits left or right hand 870, 1100 and 1187, its in mossy oak camo and the item number is 516822MB

    Sorry to interrupt, I have a 11-87 12 ga. and a 1100 20 ga and I asked a gunsmith about drilling and tap for a scope. He said he would NOT reccomend it because the receiver is thin and would use a B-square instead. What do you guys think?

    I personally really like the option of cranking that scope up to 7 or 8 power - which I've done many times. My 11-87 has a Leupold VX-2 3-9 on it - which is hard to beat.

    I have yet to see a scoped 870, 11xx that didn't use a mount installed by replacing the receiver pins with screws and usually a B-Square mount..

    I never look busy sometimes 'cause I do it right the first time sometimes.
