Shirstone scope

I have a Shirstone 3x9x40 scope that is gloss black in finish. I have had this scope for many years and it was on a rifle that I purchased. I have found web sites that advertise what appears to be new models from shirstone that are matte black, but a majority of the sites are not in English or dont advertise prices. I have been to multiple gun shops and shows, and no one seems to know anything about this manufacturer. It appears that the scope is manufactured in Japan. I am wondering if this scope has any value? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
