What FMJ do you use in your .32?

What Brand/weight FMJ does your Breretta 3032 Inox like the best (if you have one)?

I want to stick with copper-sheathed FMJ, for both target and self defense.
I plan on shooting several times a week until I'm sure it is reliable (1000+).

Thanks, Bob. This sounds like the problem one gentleman has been having with his safety. When the Colt Double Eagle came out, the parts behind the right grip would fly to heaven, so I'm told. That is why they developed the Mark II model shortly after.

    I use the cheapest FMJ for practice, and Cor-Bon hollowpoints in the pistol & 2 backup mags I have.

    I use Winchester Silvertips in both of mine. My Friend in law enforcement carries a Guardian as backup and he prefers the Fiocchi 60 grain round in his. My requirements are that whatever round I use will cycle reliably 100% of the time. Also, if I ever have to shoot anyone I don't want a "slick" lawyer making an issue out of the bullet I used. Since the Winchester Silvertip is a recommended round (with an excellent one-stop record in actual shooting) that's what I use.

    FMJ would make a crummy defensive round out of a caliber that by the best estimation is the bare minimum for defense, and in a lot of opinions is too weak to be a sure thing. That said, I have shot some of Speer's Gold Dot ammo with a very nasty looking HP. I have carried it in a few of my CZs. For plinking though I reload with lead cast bullets.

    I know the .32 is a weak load...but on my new CCW, I want to get used to carrying all the time before I strap on a larger gun.

    I have several choices for greater firepower, and will graduate up accordingly.
    In a perfect world, I will never need a 32ACP, a .357, .380, 40S&W, or 45ACP.

    But to be prepared for anything, you have to start somewhere.
    I didn't start riding motorcycles on a 1200, I started on a 450cc.

    This advise and specific answers from people who shoot every gun on the market and test every load out there has rounded out my knowledge base on target and self-defense loads.

    It apparently is best to use a FMJ for practice and a JHP for self defense in this caliber.
    And as some note FMJ would only be suitable in 45ACP, I'd think 40S&W FMP would make a pretty convincing arguement. And even .380ACP.

    The ONLY round I WOULD use in a FMJ for self defense would be .45ACP

    Find what your gun likes the best. Do a little troubleshooting. Buy a box of everything you would consider withing your budget that you can afford to use to train with too. Then see which one your gun likes the best. Then buy a bulk supply of it, and use it.
