7.62 ammo crate
just recieved a crate of 30-06 ammo in bandeliers and on clips (garand) the case has 624 rounds and headstamp is ama 90..the case has this on it 624st 7.62mm skpt m/48 pakket lot-1-ama-91..found a slip of paper in case that reads tomme patronhylstre skal opsamles og afleveres and a hmak with a crown.. would like to know where this tuf was made and also about how much it is all worth..thansk for your help tom

Found a reference for the headstamp.
"AMA" is supposed to be the headstamp used by the Danish Government arsenal in Copenhagen.0 -

This stuff was going arround the surplus market a year or two ago. Good ammo. Berdan primed, Non corrosive, copperwashed steel jacket Lead core bullet, very accurate. I paid $10-12 per bandolier for the ammo. This was made by the danes for the Garand rifles we loaned them to keep out the krauts after WW2. Now that we have the rifles back they sold off the ammo.

richbug..thanks for the info..but this ammo is brass cased and looks like a copper jacketed bullet..probally is berdan but i have not fired any yet..thanks again tom 0 -
The case is brass, but the bullet is steel jacketed with a copper plating, stick a magnet to it. It will stick. Tends to be harder than average on steel targets.
