Auto ordnance A-1 standard
Could you guys give me some feed back on a 45 ACP A-1 standard Auto Ordnance in good condition. Is it in the ball park with colt, and some other makers? Are they cheap copies or are they good pistols?
How much is one in good cond. worth? Thanks for any info. KP

Personally, I think Auto Ordnance pistols are sub par. I would recommend you look for a Colt, Springfield, Kimber or Sig if you want a good 45.

I agree with Chris. I have seen two friends purchase them and they were both lacking. Do yourself a big favor, save your money and get a good quality one and you won't have to look back. My personal pick would be Colt and Kimber. 0 -
They got bought by Kahr Inc a while back and the quality has gone up dramatically. QC under the previous management sucked and the tolerances and fit were atrocious. I was working on one that the barrel bushing was so tightly fitted into the slide that it REQUIRED a steel bushing wrench and some effort to remove. The lug/breech to slide fit was loose and the frame to slide fit was perfect. Tolerances are all over the board on the early ones. The newer ones are good guns, but you'd be better off with a Springfield if you're looking for a good milspec 1911.
