I don't know of any online source of information on these rifles. Bruce Canfield wrote an excellent article on Remington 1903's for the November 2002 issue of the American Rifleman. It was made during the 1942-1943 period; I not aware of any source for exact production dates. Evolutionary changes were made throughout production, ending with conversion to the 1903A3 designation.

I believe that yours would have had a straight stock, no finger grooves, with RA & FJA cartouches. It was probably sold by the Director of Civilian Marksmanship in the 1950's or early 1960's.

Thanks Neal. I have found that its a late 1941 rifle, just before the Remington 03A3 changeover. I'm going to start to look for old parts to make a nice wallhanger out of it. The big Crossroads of the West gunshow is in town this weekend so I'll have fun looking. Anyone with old rusted 03 parts or a broken unserviceable stock please let me know. Thanks!

Whats next? A ban on automatic transmissions?
