Mounting Scopes

When mounting scopes is it good to screw tight enough for the top ring to touch the lower or should there be some light showing.

  Depends upon the rings. You want a solid non-slip fit, but you do not want to distort or damage your scope. You just have to kind of feel your way to a solid mounting. Some will close all the way, some do not quite.
