REM 700 221 question

Can anyone tell me if the magazine spacer block, spring and follower for the 221 are different from the 223 length? Also, are the feed rails configured differently? I think I might like to build one for the hell of it, (I have everything to do the job),but not sure if I have to buy new magazine parts or if it is even doable with 223 feed rail configuration. Actually, this would be a 17 MACH IV.

  The magazine spacer block for the 221 Fireball is longer then that for the .223, also, the spring and follower are shorter. You would have to buy the spring and follower and on the floor plate move the clip for the follower spring farther foward because of the shorter spring. I don't think that the feed rails would have to be changed as the 221 Fireball is the 222 Remington shortened to a cartridge case length of 1.400 inches and the case wall is almost straight. Anyway it sounds as if it should work.
