Brief history of High Standard, at this site.

Financial problems ( that they never recovered from ) was behind the relocation in the mid 70's.

hamden guns had in house QA. they were better quality. e hartford guns were built in hartford but the parts were subcontracted out. no in house QA was done. the QA was done where they were made, not assembled. untrained hi standard makers eyes determined quality, not old seasoned factory masters. basically, its the same problem the new hi std of houston has. all they did was reestablish the losing system of poor QA in house.

Never dry fire your derringer empty; that will peen the chamber & ruin it. Use fired cases as "snap caps" if you want to dry fire it.

Let me know if you want a photocopy of the original instructions.

and never cover the muzzles when you close one either. if the gun A.D.'s, it will tag your palm! ask bob shay about that!
