i'm looking at a mod 640ka,but there is no front or rear sights,no dovetails for any,gust has a grooved receiver for a scope. all my books show sights on the chuckster. has anyone ever seen one without sights?they want 120.00 for it,its in excellent cond.

I have three 640 models and all have sites If you can get it for $120.00 and its' in good condition jump on it. they are starting to go up. I always figgered $150.00 for good one was fair ,but guys are starting to ask in excess of $200.00 some close to three bills. I am not aware of the no site model You can emaul Vic Havlin at vic@havlinsales.com and ask him. he is the premo expert on mossbergs he and his wife Cheryl wrote a book "More Gun For The Money" all on the history of the Mossbergs. mine will shoot under MOA at a 100 yds. i have one i have converted to a manlicher stocked version (640M) and have two more i'm working on doing the same. You will find most mossberg .22s are super shooters and becoming more collectable everyday. good luck.[:D] Good Price[:D]

Yes, I was just going to ask you and i saw your updated post. the KS was the Deluxe version of that model...it didn't have the bbl. sites . Mossberg made a long eye relief scope for it (1A25) and mts. which you will not be able to find ,real scarce,that should be the nice Walnut checkerd stock. its' worth twice what they are asking to the right guy. You will not be able to put just any scope on the 640s with out a spl. mt.unless your scope has enough tube to mt. it far enough back you will bw OK. the ejection port on the 640 interupts the mtg' dovetail so that the scope position ,depending on the bell taper of the scope,cannnot be moved rearward enough. I can't remember off hand but some one makes some rings or mt. to take care of the problam, if it hits me i'll post back later with the info. Another Mossberg Man hooked.......[8D]

i got ahold of vic and told me the same as you.i bought the rifle this morning and it's a beaut. i took the scope off my 152 and it fits perfect.it's a weaver b4 el paso tx with a weaver 22 tip off3/4" mount.i think i will keep this rifle.thanks for all your help
