M1A Legal in California
thats my question...
It's been a VERY long time since I bought a rifle and I'm wondering if it's legal for the Independant Republic of California? If not, is it going to be real soon, as in should I go get one now or can I wait and save enough money to buy a really nice model...
thanks

Jake,,,,, M1A's are still legal in Calif.
Since they dont have pistol grips and the bayonet lugs have been removed and the "flash hiders" are now "muzzle brakes" they are still for sale in Cal.
Unfortunately you cannot buy the 20 rd mags for the rifle in Cal. If you had mags before the ban you could keep them.
They are not likely to be banned unless, of course, some nut goes on a shooting spree with one.
You can take a little time and save up. I would get a Springfield Armory M1A. I own a couple of them and they accurate, reliable, and well made.
